Week One: Portfolio Piece Selection

 For the first week we are picking our concept and starting the proxy process. For my schedule I will most likely follow the schedule Nick has provided for us with maybe a few tweaks. I will take the rest of the day to evaluate the assets I need for this environment and base a schedule off of what I think is the best way for me to attack this piece. 


For my three choices I decided on the pieces below: 














I ended up going with the beach side shack for this project because I wanted to tackle many smaller props within a contained environment. We had previously been focusing on single assets and I wanted to pull all of the techniques together in a small environment since this is what I want to focus on in the future.












I have created a list of assets based off what I can make out in the concept art, and here is what I have so far:

There are quite a few pieces but if I can get a good start on my proxies I know that I can completed the project within our 4 week time limit. I plan to import all of the environment into UE4 and light it in there as well. Texturing will be done with Substance painter and sculpting with zbrush. For a future project I will look into incorporating Oculus Medium as part of my research project and also to get practice in VR sculpting and learn the workflow from vr to maya etc.
